Andrew Douglas Rowland Jr., age 71 of New Carlisle, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2014 in his residence. He was born in Dayton, Ohio on July 18, 1943 the son of Andrew & Garnett (Cooper) Rowland. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and Army Reserves, a member of VFW Post 9582, American Legion Post 668, Amvets Post 99 all of Vandalia, and the Troy Fish & Game.

He is survived by his son Stephen Douglas Rowland, 2 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, 2 brothers Jessie (Crystal) Rowland and Paul (Eleanor) Rowland, 2 sisters Linda Johnson and Patricia Bauer, a brother-in-law Fred Rich and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Judean Rich, brother-in-law Leroy Johnson Sr., and 3 nephews Leroy Johnson, David Rowland, and Fred Rich Jr.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, December 29, 2014 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm in the Blessing Funeral Home, 11900 N. Dixie Dr. Tipp City. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City.
