Boss "General George Patton" Marcum, age 91 of Huber Heights passed away Monday, July 2, 2018 at Wood Glen Alzheimer's Community, Dayton. He was born in Waneta, Kentucky on March 22, 1927 the son of Henry & Mabel (Martin) Marcum. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served in WWII and was stationed in Europe. He was well known as being a "Jack of all trades". He loved all kinds of animals and loved children. For many years he dressed as General George S. Patton and drove his Dodge Command car with his English Bull Terrier dog "Willie" in the Air Show Parade, Huber Heights Parade and Dayton Children's Parade. He loved to take the children in his neighborhood rides in his command car.
He is survived by his daughter Debbie Marcum (Russell Potter), sister Martha and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Edith Marcum and 12 brothers and sisters Delbert, Talmadge, Victor, Billy, Louis, Hattie, Mag, Sylvia, Scytha, Sally Belle, Minnie and Betty.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, July 9, 2018 from 12:00 – 1:00 pm at the BLESSING-ZERKLE FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr., Tipp City. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Dayton Memorial Park, Dayton. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.blessingfh.com .
