Carmen Arlene Hall, age 95 of Tipp City, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at Kettering Medical Center. She was born in Peabody, Kansas on March 11, 1931, the daughter of Keith & Ursula (Shriver) Buell. Carmen met Nelson Hall and they married in 1952 and ended up in Ohio where they raised their two lovely daughters Terry & Penny. She loved to ride her horse, Tony, on the family farm. She also loved to garden, sew and crochet. When her daughters were old enough, she went back to work as an office secretary and bookkeeper. She remained devoted to her husband Nelson’s love for flying and aircraft restoration. She took flying lessons from him and soloed, but after that she left flying up to Nelson. She came to know Jesus Christ as her savior late in life and attended church when she could with her daughter. She became an avid acrylic painter in her 70’s and 80’ and even into her early 90’s.
She is survived by her husband of over 74 years, Nelson N. Hall; daughters Terry Arlene (Jim) Gentry and Penny Neleen (Scott) Zeller; 5 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brother KE Buell; sister Delores Hordeski and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Carmitia Yust and Marjorie Graham. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and will be missed by all who knew her.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, August 31, 2026, from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm at the ZERKLE FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr., Tipp City. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at the New Carlisle Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family through this online guestbook.
