Carol Freda Persinger, age 96 of DeGraff, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, March 15, 2025. She was born in Fletcher, Ohio on November 14, 1928, the daughter of Elmer C. Sr. & Blanche (Bodey) Vorpe. She retired from Graham Schools as a teacher's aide. She was a lifelong member of the Rosewood Church and loved to sew, paint and spend time with her family.

She is survived by her children Susan Spiers, Wesley (Sandy) Persinger, Deborah (Brent) Hablutzel, Linda (David) Fay, Melissa (David) Dennis, Nathan (Tonya) Persinger and Tim (Karen) Persinger; grandchildren Damon, Deadra, Joseph, Joshua, Amanda, Brandon, Jacob, Andrea, Katherine, Christina, Paula, Matthew and Daniel; 36 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; sister Jeanne Gibson and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 57 years Ned R. Persinger in 2004; grandson Stephen Persinger; brothers Elmer C. Vorpe Jr., Stanley Vorpe, George Vorpe and Carl Vorpe; and sisters Harriett Stephenson, Ruth Maurer and Kay Rice.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at the Rosewood Church, 6543 Rosewood Quincy Road, Rosewood, Ohio 43070. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am at the church with Pastor Andy Leighty officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Point Cemetery, Pasco, Ohio.
