Cecil Howard Cotterman, age 81 of Trotwood passed away Monday, February 1, 2010 in Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton. He was born on December 8, 1928 in Van Wert, Ohio the son of Eugene & Hilda Cotterman. He worked in Maintenance at General Motors until his retirement in 1986 after 39 years. Then he began driving a bus for Montgomery County Board of Developmental Disabilities Services for the next 9 years. Cecil enjoyed attending the CT Gospel Singing every Saturday night on North Dixie Dr.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years Pauline Louise (Daniels) Cotterman, children Judy (Wayne) Byers of North Carolina, Bonnie (Dave) Wright of Missouri, Vickie (Rick) Powers of New Lebanon, and Terry (Beth) Cotterman of Georgia, step children Linda (Curtis) Mathis of Columbus and Scot (Carol) Speakman of Yellow Springs, 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and several other family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and 9 brothers and sisters.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2010 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm in the BLESSING FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr. Tipp City. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1:00 pm in the funeral home with Pastor Kenny Shively officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Montgomery County Board of Developmental Disabilities Services at 5450 Salem Ave, Dayton, Ohio 45426.
