Obituary

Cecil Willis Shelton, age 89 of Dayton, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2012 in Hospice of Dayton. He was born in Hopewell, Kentucky on June 10, 1923 the son of John W. & Monica (George) Shelton. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II. He was a member of the Vandalia Senior Citizens and the VFW Post #9582 of Vandalia.He retired from GM in 1982 after 35 years of service. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, wood carving and loved baseball.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years Marguerite (Justice) Shelton, children Linda (Doug) Huelsman and Mike (Virginia) Shelton, 3 grandchildren Brian Huelsman, Andrew (Melanie) Shelton, Jeffrey Shelton, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and 8 brothers and sisters Wayne, Margaret, Elmo, June, Frank, Sally "Stella", Jesse, and Ray Gene.
The family would like to thank the staffs at Helping Hands, Grace Brethren Village, and Hospice of Dayton for their care and compassion during this difficult time.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2012 from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm in the BLESSING FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr. Tipp City. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 12:00 pm in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Cecil''s memory to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave. Dayton, Ohio 45420. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.blessingfh.com.
