Dale E. Stoner, 87, of Huber Heights, OH. went home to be with the Lord on Wed., August 1, 2018 while at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, OH. He was born on Aug.12, 1930 in Waterloo, IA. to Clarence & Maybelle (Davis) Stoner.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, his wife Elizabeth Joan Stoner & infant daughter and in 2001, his son Jeff Stoner.
He is survived by his grandson Jeffrey Stoner II of Fresno CA. and his sister Harriet Lewis (Dick) of Waterloo, IA.
Dale graduated from Open Bible College in Des Moines, became a licensed minister and moved to Dayton in 1955 to serve as Assistant Pastor at the First Church of the Open Bible of Dayton, OH, under three Senior Pastors. Dale was a faithful and active member of his church, loved the Lord, and was much loved by his church family and friends. There he met and married the love of his life, Elizabeth (Joan) Morgan. After many years of church service he became employed by the Kroger grocery store, and retired from the dairy department. A faithful and active member of his church, Dale was much loved by his church family and friends. He was very close to his sister and brother-in-law, to his friend Ruth Herman, his pastors Gary & Angie Petersen and to 3 very special ladies - Linda, Beulah and Faye who helped him constantly at Lane Park Assisted Living. He is now rejoicing with his Lord and Savior.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, August 6, 2018 from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm at the BLESSING-ZERKLE FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr., Tipp City. A Funeral service will be held on Monday at 12 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Gary Petersen officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, New Carlisle. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Dale's memory to the First Church of the Open Bible, 4990 Old Troy Pike, Dayton, Ohio 45424.
