David William Cotterman, age 91 of Vandalia, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 in Patriot Ridge Community, Fairborn. He was born in Sidney, Ohio on May 18, 1921 the son of John & Laura (Bates) Cotterman. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WW II. He was stationed in the South Pacific for 3 years where he made 5 landings. He recently went to Washington for the Honor Flight.

He is survived by his children Nina and Robert Anderson, Janet and Andrew Backs, David and Donna Cotterman, Laura and Charles Reames, 12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 61 years Myrtle Cotterman, 4 brothers, and 2 sisters.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2012 from 12:00 - 2:00 pm in the BLESSING FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr. Tipp City. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2:00 pm in the funeral home with Pastor Chris Tannrenther officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City.
