Dawn Oakley Underwood, age 75 of Englewood, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2026, at Kettering Grandview Hospital. She was born in Troy, Ohio on March 5, 1951, the daughter of Robert & Martha (Frye) Oakley. She was a member of First Light Church in Vandalia and enjoyed painting, crafts and Gospel singing.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Jack D. Underwood; daughters Tracy Rucker and Sara Weidel; son Brent (Alyssa) Underwood; grandchildren Roschey Black, Tierney Miller (Fiancé Jesse Akers), Quentin (Silvanna) Rucker, Kendall Rucker, Donovan Black, Wyatt Underwood and Myla Underwood; 4 great grandchildren; sisters Denise Bolton and Darlene (Steve) DiMaria and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law Marshall A. “Mark” Rucker and brother-in-law Denny Bolton. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and will be missed by all who loved and knew her.

A Celebration of Dawn’s Life will be held at a later date. Services have been entrusted to the Zerkle Funeral Home, Tipp City. Condolences may be sent to the family through this online guestbook.
