Obituary

Donald R. Hopper, age 74 of Tipp City passed away on Friday, May 31, 2013 at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy. He was born in Winchester, Kentucky on November 14, 1938 the son of Marvin and Katherine (Thomas) Hopper. Don graduated from Winchester High School, Sinclair Community College and served four years in the U.S. Navy. He retired from the City of Dayton Police Department at 20 years of service. Don was past Worshipful Master of John W. Durst Masonic Lodge #716 and a member of FOP John C. Post #44. He was also co-owner of Midwest Investigative Services after his retirement.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years Jo (Pritchard) Hopper, one brother Lee Hopper of Riverview, Fl., one daughter Sherri Chenoweth, two sons Donald S. (Michelle) and Greg (Charity) and nine grandchildren Hailey Hopper (Greg Saarinen), Andrew Hopper, Joseph Hopper, Daniel Hopper, Brett Lomax, Jacob Hopper (Ashley Hopper), Samuel Hopper, Tristen Chenoweth, and Taylor Chenoweth.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm in the BLESSING FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr. Tipp City. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 12:00 pm in the funeral home. Burial will follow in the VA Cemetery, Dayton. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.blessingfh.com.
