Doris Mae French, age 77 of Riverside, passed away Friday, December 19. 2025, at Soin Hospital, Beavercreek. She was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on June 10, 1948, the daughter of Wilbur & Daisey (Tarpley) Matthews. She was a former Deaf Interpreter for the Dayton Baptist Temple. She enjoyed spending many summers at Grand Lake St. Mary's.

She is survived by her son Robert (Angie) French; daughter Sondra French; grandchildren Cheryl French, David French, Emily French, Timothy French, Elijah McCarr, Mackenzie Phillips, Mason Griesinger and Tiffany Lerma; great grandchildren Ryan, Levi, Sophia, Oliver and Adeline; sister Judy Matthews and many other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Howard "Pee Wee" French Jr.. Doris was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend and will be missed by all who loved her.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm at the ZERKLE FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr., Tipp City. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City.
