Elijah B. Evans Sr., age 71 of Troy, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2025, at his home. He was born in Troy on January 1, 1954, the son of Julius & Kathleen (Boggs) Evans. He loved to hunt, fish, shoot guns and play the guitar.

He is survived by his sons Elijah B. (April) Evans Jr. of Quincy and Clinton A. (Lynsey) Evans of Springfield; stepchildren Susan (Richard) Kimes of Cardinton, Oh. and Larry C. (Hope) Taylor of Mansfield, Oh.; grandchildren Addison and Grady Evans; step grandchildren Shannon (Justin) McEleney, Courtney Kimes (Jared) and Michael (Hannah) Kimes; great grandchildren Mason McEleney, Brogan McEleney and Josie Kausman; step great grandchildren Christian Taylor, Michael and Haley; brothers Roy (Paulette) Evans of Ashland, Ky., William (Carol) Evans of Jacksonville, Fl., James (Shelia) Evans of Troy and Fred Evans of Jacksonville, Fl.,

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Virginia Evans; brother George Stephens; niece Sonja Stephens; and nephews Neil and Adam Evans.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2025, from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the ZERKLE FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr., Tipp City. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 7:00 pm at the funeral home. A Graveside burial; will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025 at 11:30 am at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, 11890 N.
