George A. Holt, Jr., age 85 of Englewood, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2014 in Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born in Rockingham, Vermont on May 13, 1929 the son of George A. Sr. and Ruth O. (Brown) Holt. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force where he served in the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post #668 and was a Past District Commander. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #742 Vandalia, Eastern Star #594 Dayton Victory Chapter, Scottish Rite and Antioch Shrine. He was a member of the Concord Methodist Church, Englewood.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Norma K. (Low) Holt, 3 daughters Cheryl Holt, Karen Holt, and Robin Routzohn, 4 step sons Michael Routzohn, Grant Routzohn, Mark Routzohn, Chris Routzohn, 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, a brother Fred Holt, 3 sisters Marie Cropley, Donna Maulding, and Sandie George, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step son Doug Routzohn, and a sister Jackie Daulton.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at BLESSING FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr. Tipp City. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at 10:30 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City.
