Obituary

Harold "Shorty" Hayslett, age 94 of Vandalia, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018 at his residence. He was born on April 3, 1923 in West Alexandria, Ohio, the son of Caleb & Beatrice (Crouse) Hayslett. He retired from TWA in 1981 after 35 years as a ticket agent at the Dayton International Airport.

He is survived by his 5 sons Dick (Diana) of Tulsa, Ok., Jerry (Monika) of Plain City, Ed (Peg) of Denver, Co., Greg (Kathy) of Vandalia, and Nick of Vandalia, 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; a sister Alice Ethamay Smith and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 60 years, Georgia Hayslett in 2010 and brothers Robert and Roy Hayslett.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at the BLESSING-ZERKLE FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr., Tipp City. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 12:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Todd Hoskins officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Grove Cemetery, West Alexandria.
