Helen D. Gifford, 84, of Dayton, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 23, 2026. She was born on April 8, 1942, in Lucasville, Ohio, the daughter of Greenville Mitchell & Mary (Runyon) Wiley. Helen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She was the owner of Central Fire Protection, located in Springfield, and was a member of The Pentecostals of Dayton for the past thirty-three years. Helen both received and gave much love, and she will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and church family.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond Gifford; her daughter, Karla; her son, Allen; her brother Mitchell Wiley; her sisters-in-law, Linda Gifford, Bernadine Gifford, and Janet Potts; her brothers-in-law, Tom Gifford and Frank Hutchison; and her nephew, David Potts.

She is survived by her children, Rev, Doug (Tricia) Gifford; Brenda (Benjamin) Rushing; Karen (Rev. Wylie) Rhinehart; and Rev. Stephen (Crystal) Gifford; her sister, Donna Hutchison; her brothers-in-law, Rev. Michael Gifford, Rev. James Gifford and Terry (Sherry) Gifford; and her sister-in-law, Marcella Wiley. She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Joshua, Kara, Brittany, Rebecca, Bethany, Lauren, Andrew, Whitney, Leah, Micaylie, Noah, Emily, Falyn, Grace, Alana, Keyden, Camden, and Ella; her great-grandchildren: Stephaun, Paris, Ava, Claire, Jacob, Hudson, Ben, Nick, Winston, Lawson, Coen, Alexandria, Addison, Annie, Audrie, Andie, Bentlee, Levi, Henry, Ruth, Lennox, and Kylee; and one great-great-grandchild, Amerian; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, June 1, 2026, from 3:00 – 6:00 pm at the Pentecostals of Dayton Church, 168 Avondale Dr., Dayton, Ohio 45404. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 6:00 pm at the church with Pastor Wylie Rhinehart officiating. A burial will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at 11:00 am at Ferncliff Cemetery, 501 W. McCreight Ave., Springfield. Services have been entrusted to the Zerkle Funeral Home, 11900 N. Dixie Dr., Tipp City. Condolences may be sent to the family through this online guestbook.
