Helen Marie Hawkins, age 75 of New Carlisle passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2011 in Springfield Regional Medical Center, Springfield. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on December 31, 1935 the daughter of Harry and Katherine (Downy) Gersbacher.
She is survived by her children Deborah Giles (Melvin), Bonnie Kay Pence, Kim Upton (Richard) and Thomas Hawkins, 9 grandchildren Chad Metcalf, Joel Metcalf (Megan), Conner Giles, Taylor Giles, Christina Pence, Shannon Pence, Charles Pence, Elizabeth Upton (Jeremy) and Sarah Upton, 3 great grandchildren, and 2 brothers Harry C. Gersbacher II (Melanie) and James Gersbacher (Ann).
She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband Richard Hawkins in 2004.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, December 30, 2011 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am in the BLESSING FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr. Tipp City. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 am in the funeral home with Pastor Larry Marvel officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City.
