Janet Ruth Baker, 76 of Dayton, passed away Friday, July 1, 2011 in her residence. She was born in Dayton, Ohio on September 30, 1934 the daughter of Elmer Jake & Donna Vera (Davis) Burke. She was a life member of the VFW #5018 Ladies Auxiliary where she was a past president, and a member of the American Legion Post #615.
She is survived by her children Donna (Michael) Chase, Shayne Childers, Theodore E. (Julie) Baker, son-in-law Bill Childers Jr., daughter-in-law Debbie Baker, 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, brothers Kenneth Burke and Ted Lux, sister-in-law Uncle Hilda Baker, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Theodore R. Baker Jr., son Craig Alan Baker, brother Richard Burke, sister Noni Carns, and a sister-in-law Sandra Pritchitt.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 from 5-8 pm in the BLESSING FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr. Tipp City. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City.
