Joan Marcelline Hilvers, age 89 of Huber Heights, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at her residence. She was born in Simpson, Kansas on September 19, 1928 the daughter of John & Helen (Nible) Murray. She enjoyed her family, especially doting over her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She looked forward to playing her weekly bingo at the Huber Heights Senior Center.

She is survived by her children Cheryle (Ed) Lankford, Shawn (Laurie) Hilvers, Lori (Greg) Metivier, and Kelly Krazer; 9 grandchildren Jessica (Matty), Armando, Sean (Jenna), Jamie (Jon), Veronica (Mark), Chris (Tiffany), Joel, Brianna, and Heather (Justin); 10 great grandchildren Maiya, Gianna, Jaeden, Kaleb, Zoe, Zak, Avian, Elon, Julia, and Coral; sisters Betty Bergman and Pauline (Jerry) Brummer; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years Eugene Hilvers in 2012, brothers John and Larry Murray and sisters Vivian Krone and Louise Saine.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at the BLESSING-ZERKLE FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr., Tipp City. A funeral service will follow on Saturday at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Joan's memory to Crossroads Hospice, 8069 Washington Village Dr., Dayton, Ohio 45458 or to the American Cancer Society, 2808 Reading Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45206.
