John David Dunkin, age 77 of Fletcher passed away Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Upper Valley Medical Center Hospice Unit. He was born in Seaman, Ohio on August 12, 1939 the son of John & Mae (Smittle) Dunkin. He retired from the Dayton Metro Library in 2003 after 30 years in the Maintenance Department. He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Gun Club and enjoyed fishing, hunting and trapshooting.

He is survived by his wife Ruth Dunkin, daughters Carla (John) Malott and Tammy Elliott, grandchildren Evan, Lily and Daniel Malott, Ashly Bray and Christopher Elliott, a great granddaughter Lorelai Bray, a sister Karen (Fred) Keeney, and special friends Paulette Shepherd, Maryann Hale and Jimmy Maynard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1st wife Fran Dunkin, and a brother Gus Dunkin.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at the BLESSING-ZERKLE FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr. Tipp City, Ohio.
