John Alden Moyer, age 77 of Tipp City, passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at his residence. He was born in Pleasant Hill, Ohio on February 3, 1941 the son of Alonzo & Lydia Pearl (West) Moyer. He retired from DAP Corporation in Tipp City in 2004 after 30 years as a warehouse man and forklift operator. He was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church, Vandalia. He was a known as a "Mr. Fix it Man" and loved to repair fishing reels. John loved to mow his yard, all kinds of sports, and fishing, but most of all he loved his family and spending time with all of them.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Juda (Badgley) Moyer, his children Julie Durka, Jill Moyer, Jon Moyer and Jenell Terry; grandchildren Alexa Durka, Kira Durka and Lydia Terry; great granddaughter Katya Durka; sisters Carolyn Smith and Kathy Gany and several nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Nelson Moyer, James Moyer, and Lowell Moyer; and sisters Norma Pottorf-Whetstone, Millie Barbee, Shirley Trent and Pat Smith.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, August 27, 2018 from 4:00 – 6:00 pm at the BLESSING-ZERKLE FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr. , Tipp City. A memorial service will be held on Monday at 6:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at the Houston Cemetery, Houston, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in John's memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, P.O. Box 1000 Dept 142, Memphis, Tennessee 38101.
