Johnnie Earnestine Burgan, age 84 of Dayton, passed away Friday, July 14, 2017 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born in Harriman, Tennessee the daughter of William & Edith (Butler) Spears. She was an avid reader and loved to write poetry.

She is survived by her children Vicki Shadle, Melissa (James) Lee, Perry (Mary) Burgan and Michael Burgan; grandchildren Levi (Kasie) Brian (Amy), Brad, Devin (Courtney), Derek (Libby) Dalton, Christopher, Brittany (Jason), Sidney (David) and Perry Jr.; 10 great grandchildren and several other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 63 years Billy Ray Burgan in 2013, 3 sisters, 2 brothers, her son-in-law William Shadle and her granddaughter-in-law Amber Shadle.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2017 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at the BLESSING-ZERKLE FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr., Tipp City, Ohio 45371. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City.
