Joseph William Simon, Jr age 63 of Dayton, passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2011 in the VA Hospice Center, Dayton. He was born in Dayton on March 26, 1948 the son of Joseph William Sr. & Gertrude Agnes (Maher) Simon. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served in Vietnam. He was a life member of the VFW Post #9582 of Vandalia, Amvets of Vandalia, and the DAV. He was a member of the American Legion of Vandalia and the Shady Shores Yacht Club of Marblehead.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years Dolores "Dee" (Spencer) Simon, daughter Melissa Simon of Elmore, Ohio, 2 brothers James (Dawn) Simon of Georgia and Dick (Judy) Simon of Brookville, Beloved dog Chloe Marie, several nieces, nephews and special friends.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, September 30, 2011 from 5-8 pm in the BLESSING FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr. Tipp City. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 10:30 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City.
