IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Judith Ann
"Judy" Woodie
June 4, 1944 – July 26, 2025
Judith Ann "Judy" Woodie, age 81 of Arcanum, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2025, after a courageous fight to survive multiple ailments. She was born in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of Henry and Mildred Parsons. She was the first daughter of three, Linda Vencill and Susan Anderson, she had two friends who she called adopted sisters, Linda Bingham and Delores Adkins. She graduated from Fairview High School in Dayton and began working for the Dayton Police Dept. as a secretary in the detective section. She then went on to become a domestic engineer and began part-time as the Monroe Township Secretary for 40 years, after meeting her late husband, Larry Woodie. They had two daughters, Lisa Cottrell and Lori Baker. Judy is survived by Michael Rider, whom she has spent the last 33 years with. Mike has been a wonderful addition to the family for Lisa and Lori after the passing of their father.
Judy had several nieces and nephews who meant the world to her, and she meant the world to them. She also gained a very close relationship with Michael's son, Nathan Rider and his wife Doreen Rider and their daughter Colette Michelle Marie Rider.
Judy spent 40 years bowling on a league during her domestic engineer days and developed some near and dear friendships. She had a passion for the sport and was extremely gifted at it. She was an amazing grandmother to her grandson, Cameron Baker. The sun rose and set on this young man, and they spent a lot of time creating beautiful memories which Judy was all about. Her past few years of struggle to stay on this earth was to see Cameron graduate high school, which she seen him do this past May. Judy was a spitfire and had so much energy, and the grass didn't grow under her feet. She had a love for gardening, and if she completed the day without dirt under her fingernails, in her mind she didn't do any work that day.
During her last days of struggle, she was truly blessed to have her sister, Susie Anderson, who stayed by her side an extreme amount of time, along with Judy's daughters, Lisa and Lori. Susie's dedication to her was a remarkable display of sisterhood. Susie was an earth angel to Judy.
Judy's legacy will carry on always reminding us, "Don't borrow worry, today has enough of its own" Judy will be deeply missed be her family and friends, but her legacy of kindness and goodwill will go on. As she fought hard during her battle here and in the end, she earned her wings to meet her creator who undoubtable welcomed her home to her final destination.
