Loretta Dale Powell, age 81 of Dayton, passed away Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born in Letcher County, Kentucky on July 18, 1937 the daughter of Enoch & Maggie June (Webb) Hall. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Vandalia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son Chris Powell, brothers Joseph "JL" and Carl and sisters Irene, Lois and Jane.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Gary & Amy Powell;  grandchildren Allison, Ethan, Ty Powell and Cameron Powell; husband of 59 years Charles Hugh Powell, sister-in-law Nancy; and niece Deana and her son Paul. Loretta is also survived by her many friends including those at the "Fun Table" at 10 Wilmington Place. Everyone who met her appreciated her warm and contagious smile. She embodied joy, positivity, and strength through all aspects of her life.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, August 30, 2018 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the BLESSING-ZERKLE FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr., Tipp City. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be held on Friday at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City.
