Lynn Carl Holderman, born March 21, 1938, passed away peacefully at 6:58 PM on Saturday, September 16, 2017. He had been surrounded by his loving family for the entire day. He is survived by: his wife of 52 years, Delcie Holderman; his children, Paulette (Ralph) Bonnell, Vicki (Tom) Schuster, Tim (Teresa) Holderman, and his daughter-in-law Diana Holderman; his grandchildren, Emily (Mike) Forbes, Philip Recker, Angie (Jared) Nikolitch, Steve (Kristi) Daugherty and family, Jimmy (Jinnifer) Daugherty and family, Steve Holderman, Jr., Shawn (Elizabeth) Holderman, and Aaron Holderman; his great-grandchildren Andrew Recker, Shawn Holderman, Jr., and Sophia Holderman. He is preceded in death by: his parents, Carl and Laura Holderman; his sister, Donna Hertel; his children, Leeanne Holderman and Steve Holderman; and his granddaughter, Samantha Schuster.

Lynn was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, coach, mentor, and friend. He was quick to laugh and quicker with a witty pun. He loved woodworking and created beautiful treasures for his family. He loved his country and proudly served in the Navy for six years. He was beloved by his caregivers who always shared how independent and funny he was.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at the BLESSING-ZERKLE FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr., Tipp City. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Mike Tuttle officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Lynn''s memory to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45420 or the American Cancer Society, 2808 Reading Rd., Cincinnati, Ohio 45206.
