Mackie Clifford Lewis, age 87, of Dayton, OH, passed away April 13,2026 He donned his boots and hat and saddled up for his final ride. He was born May 11, 1938, in Cumberland County, Tennessee, the son of Columbus "Fate" Lewis and Carrie Nova "Lee" (Rector) Lewis. He was a retired self-employed masonry construction worker. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, horseback barrel racing and the great outdoors. He was a genuinely caring person who was always giving a lending hand to anyone needing assistance. Over the years, many people enjoyed hearing Clem's colorful stories and jokes.

Survivors include his daughter Debra Fischer; sons Mack & Mike Lewis; grandchildren Shad, Jarrett, Alisha, & Derek Sandlin, Cheryl (Todd) Malone, Sarah Hall-Shepherd, Brittany Lewis, Kevin Lewis, Brooke Gau, Amberlynn Lewis, Eric Lewis, Shane Wendling, Corey Lee & Brandy Roberts; 20+ great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 57 yrs Roberta (Grooms) Lewis; son Kevin Wayne Lewis; daughter Cathy Ann Lewis; son-in-law Scott Fischer and grandson Anthony Lewis

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at 1:00 pm at the Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, 11890 N. Dixie Dr., Tipp City. Mackie will be laid to rest next to his wife, Roberta. Services have been entrusted to the Zerkle Funeral Home, Tipp City. Condolences may be sent to the family through this online guestbook.
