Mamie Opal (Moore) Challis, age 86 of New Carlisle passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2014 in Dayview Nursing Home, New Carlisle. She was born in Cookeville, Tennessee on April 19, 1927 the daughter of John Allen & Sarah Elmina (Holloway) Moore. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of New Carlisle and she enjoyed gardening.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Shirley and Dale Gentry and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Bobbie Lewis Robinson and William Challis, son Bobbie Gale Robinson, 4 brothers Floyd, Edley, Charlie and Archie Moore, and 4 sisters Dorothy Quarles, Gladys Choate, Irene Newberry, and Clara Robinson.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2014 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm in the First Baptist Church of New Carlisle, 8870 E. St. Rt. 571, New Carlisle. A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 4, 2014 in the church with Pastor Jeff Christmas officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Mamie''s memory to the First Baptist Church of New Carlisle, 8870 E. St. Rt. 571, P.O. Box 212, New Carlisle, Ohio 45344.
