Maria De Los Angeles Gonzalez Romero, age 59 of Dayton, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at Miami Valley Hospital. She was born in Mexico on April 1, 1964 the daughter of Julian Gonzalez and Victoria Romero. Maria loved all animals, epically all of her dogs. She also loved taking walks, being outside enjoying her plants and garden and spending time with her family. Maria was very strong in her Catholic faith and attended St .Mary's Catholic Church in Dayton.

She is survived by her mother; her husband of 42 years Hilario Mendiola; children Francisco (Tiffany) Mendiola, Diana Mendiola Gonzalez (Juan Carlos Correa), Luz Mendiola (Francisco Valdez), Gloria Mendiola Gonzalez (Carlos Gomez), Lizbeth Mendiola Gonzalez (Jose Perez), Omar Mendiola Gonzalez, Edgar Gonzalez and Maria Gonzalez (Edgar Ayala); grandchildren Adam, Miguel, Dominic, Carlos, Bryan, Juan Anthony, Cristian, Leobardo, Orlando, Alex Jesus, Karla Paola, Ruby Dulce, Joseph Fabian, Ayleen Nicole and Lian Gabriel; 3 sisters Gloria, Isabel and Leticia; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and her very special dog Cookie.

She was preceded in death by her father; her brother Francisco Gonzalez; and her dog Fluffy. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and will be missed by all who loved her.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at the ZERKLE FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr., Tipp City. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City.
