Mary Elizabeth Hodges, passed away Friday, March 12, 2010 after a lengthy illness. Mary was born February 29, 1924 in Bloomington, Indiana to Fred and Mary Esther (Ballard) Hays. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Burton Hays sister Martha Hall and her husband Dwight Hodges. She leaves behind her beloved children, daughter George Ann (Jerry) Hamilton of Alabama, sons James (Jeannie) of California, and Scott (Vickie) Hodges of Vandalia. She also leaves behind her precious grandchildren Whitney Hamilton of New York, Ashley (Michael) Brady of Florida, David (Melanie) Hodges of Vandalia, and Andrea Franz of Vandalia, as well as her great grandchildren, Nicholas Hodges, Gwen Franz, Dominic Shearer and Nola Hodges all of Vandalia. She also leaves behind many in-laws, nieces and nephews. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 from 12:00 to 2:00 pm in the BLESSING FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr. Tipp City. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 pm in the funeral home with Pastor Forrest Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Poplar Hill Cemetery, Vandalia.
