Ovid O. Stewart, age 75 of Tipp City, passed away Monday, February 14, 2011 at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born in Londonderry, Vinton County, Ohio on November 3, 1935 the son of Joseph and Zella (Peck) Stewart. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving on and Aircraft Carrier during the Korean War. He was a member of the Vandalia Baptist Temple, Vandalia.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years Lois (Howell) Stewart, sons Keith (Bonnie) Stewart of Tipp City and Kenneth (Joanne) Stewart of Troy, 2 granddaughters Crystal and Jessica of Tipp City, 2 grandsons Tyler (Kristin) of Kentucky and Myles (Maria) of California, 2 brothers Burman and Gerald, 3 sisters Alice, Roseline, Judy, and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers Charles, Burley, and Eddie, and 1 sister Garnett.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 18, 2011 at 2:00 pm in the BLESSING FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr. Tipp City, Ohio with Pastors Rick and Randy Washburn officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday from 12:00 - 2:00 pm in the funeral home.
