Randall (Randy) Todd Hopkins, a loving husband, father, Papa, son and friend, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2026, at the age of 65. He was a good man with a big heart, and he loved his family hard. Family meant everything to him, and he was happiest when he was surrounded by the people he loved. He was the kind of man who would drop what he was doing to help someone in need, never expecting anything in return. If you needed him, he was there. Dad had a great sense of humor and could make people laugh, often when they least expected it. He was also a wonderful storyteller. He could take a simple moment and turn it into a story you would remember, and those stories—and the way he told them—will be missed more than he ever could have known. He was known as “The Rizzler,” by his grandchildren a title that perfectly captured his charm, humor, and one-of-a-kind personality. He had a way of making people smile and leaving a lasting impression wherever he went. Dad found joy in the simple things in life. He loved to fish, spend time outdoors, and mow his yard—because, in his eyes, there was always one more thing that needed to be mowed. He loved watching Turtle Bob, and he loved sitting down to watch a good movie. Whether he was telling a story, watching a favorite movie, working in the yard, or simply spending time with the people he loved, he was happiest enjoying the everyday moments. He loved picking on Mom every chance he got, but anyone who knew them knew that behind all that teasing was a love that ran incredibly deep. Dad loved Mom with his whole heart, and Mom loved him just as deeply. She loved him through all of life's ups and downs and was always by his side. Their love was built on laughter, devotion, and a lifetime of memories together. The way he teased her, the way she loved him, and the bond they shared will be treasured by their family forever. He was proud of his country and proud to be a Republican. His love for America was a part of who he was, and he held onto the values that mattered most to him: family, hard work, helping others, and doing what was right. Dad wasn't a perfect man, and he never claimed to be. He was simply our man—the one we could count on, the one who would lend a hand, the one who loved us fiercely, made us laugh, told us his stories, and made life feel a little more like home. His family will forever cherish the memories of his laughter, his stories, his teasing, his love of fishing, his movies, his perfectly mowed yard, and all those ordinary moments that we didn't realize would one day become some of our most treasured memories.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Julie; his children, Corey (Mike) Elam, Amber Miller, Erica (Rob) Chaney, Clint (Darion) Hopkins; his grandchildren, Emma (Robbie), Michael, Baylie, Laney, Saydie, Keaton, Emmett, Hudson, Jordan (Kama), Paige (Keenan), Brandon and Noah; his father Donald (Sue) Hopkins; sisters Lana West and Robin Banks and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who were blessed to know and love him. He was preceded in death by his mother Mildred Hopkins and a brother Edmond Hopkins.

Though our hearts are broken by his absence, we are grateful for every moment we were given with him. His love, his lessons, his stubbornness, his humor, his stories, and his generous heart will live on in all of us. Rest easy, Dad. Go fish. Your yard can wait. We love you more than words can say.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, September 20, 226, from 2:00-5:00 pm at the ZERKLE FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr. Tipp City. A funeral service will be on Monday, September 21, 2026, at 10:30 am at the funeral home with Pastor Will Jones officiating. A burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, West Milton.
