Ray T. Morelan, age 88 of Dayton passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2011 in his residence. He was born in Tennessee on May 11, 1923 the son of Taylor & Nilah (Spearman) Morelan. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in WW II as a Petty Officer. He retired from General Motors in 1987 after 37 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Dayton and Faith Baptist Church.
He is survived by his son Tim, grandchildren Sara and Josh Morelan, great grandchildren Jacob, Taylor, Macie, and Stormy, a brother Roy Morelan, and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Ruby Morelan, a brother Ralph Morelan, and a sister Mildred Husky.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at 10:30 am at the Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, 11890 N. Dixie Dr. Tipp City, with Pastor Sam Hollingsworth officiating. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Ray''s memory to the American Heart Association, 124 N. Jefferson St. Dayton, Ohio 45402.
