Richard Allen Barnes, age 78 of Sidney, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2026, at his residence. He was born in Dayton on June 15, 1947, the son of Richard E. & Nancy J. (Corum) Barnes. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was a former truck driver, famer and a "Jack of all Trades". He was a Paramedic in the area for many years working at Wayne Township/Huber Heights and Union Township, West Milton.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Valerie Susan (Dunmore) Barnes; children Scott (Elizabeth) Barnes, James (Chelsea) Barnes and Nicole Barnes; grandchildren Braiden, Adrianna, Elliot, Jeremiah, Ivy, Adal Barnes, Greg Foremen and Ashely Foremen; and great grandchildren Colton, Adalynn, Faith and Hope Foremen.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson Mark Spoonseller and sister Jenni Lou Eichner.

Per his wishes he will be cremated. A celebration of Richard's life will be held at the convenience of the family. Services have been entrusted to the Zerkle Funeral Home, Tipp City. Condolences may be sent to the family through this online guestbook.
