Richard Allen Kurtz, age 81 of Dayton, passed away Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born in Springfield, Ohio on April 18, 1937 the son of Charles E. & Dessa (Little) Kurtz. He was a graduate of Springfield High School and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed collecting Model Trains and was an active member of the Crossroads Railroad Club in Vandalia.

He is survived by his children Richard A. Kurtz Jr., Heather S. Kurtz and Emily R. Kurtz; his grandchildren Keon Kurtz-Sutton, Anthony D. Neal, Tatiyana L. Kurtz and Emmanuel; his brother James (Martha) Kurtz and his sister Barbara Kurtz.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 31years Barbara Kurtz in 2003.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at the BLESSING-ZERKLE FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr., Tipp City. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City.
