IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert Eugene
"Bob" Vance
November 4, 1928 – September 22, 2024
Robert Eugene "Bob" Vance, age 95 of Tipp City passed away Sunday, September 22, 2024, at Randall Residence, Tipp City. He was born in Vandalia on November 4, 1928, the son of Curtis & Lyda (Penny) Vance. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served in the Korean War. He was an Inspector for NCR in Dayton and then Hartzell Propeller in Piqua and retired after over 50 years. He was an avid sports fan and watched all sports on tv. He loved to go hunting and fishing and be outdoors.
He is survived by his son Martin Vance; granddaughters Megan (Brad) Willis, Melissa Vance and Morgan (Jack) Marquis; great grandchildren Remi, Hali, Finley, Jackson, Zion, Aubry, Tripp, Legend and Zara; brother Victor Vance and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Bob's funny and easy-going personality touched the lives of everyone who knew him. He was a generous man who loved to tell stories. The most important decision Bob ever made in his life was earlier this year when he confessed that Jesus was his Lord and Savior to his granddaughter Morgan. Shortly after he was baptized on May 2nd and everyone noticed a significant change in his demeanor as the peace and love of God flowed out of him. His last words to Melissa (his granddaughter), who flew in from California to baptize him were "Thank you for coming, I now know I'm right with God." I know people had been praying for God to give him the faith to believe for at least 60 years. We praise God that we now know he will be with God forever in heaven and we shall see him again.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 48 years Margaret (Miller) Vance in 2002; brothers Carl, Earl, John, Donald, Curtis and Dean Vance; sisters Dorothy Rhoades, Mary Vance and Patricia North. Bob was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend and will be missed by all who knew him.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, September 30, 2024, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at the ZERKLE FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr., Tipp City.
