Rose Marie Rupert, age 84 of Piqua, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2024 in her residence. She was born in Glouster, Ohio on April 8, 1940 the daughter of Robert & Minnie (Taylor) Strausbaugh. She was a longtime member of the Union Baptist Church in Piqua and enjoyed gardening and sewing. She played the guitar and loved county music and was a member of the County Western Music Assn.

She is survived by her children Tammy (Ralph) Prall, Penny (Mark) Gooch, Linda (Tom) Parsons, Tim Longacre and Terry (Tammy) Longacre; grandchildren Julie (Derrick) Jones, Ron Wilson, Christina Wells, Jeremy (Apple) Larck, Cynthia Potter, Jonathon Crago, David Crago, Brantley Longacre, Chera (Jon) Frederick, Vincent Longacre, Tony Perry, Kayla Kuck and Katie Wagner; 18 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 35 years Harry Rupert in 2015; grandson Jason Wilson; and her siblings John Strausbaugh, Irene Wick, Mary Beer, Betty Gould and David Strausbaugh.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 from 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm at the ZERKLE FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr., Tipp City. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 1:30 pm at the funeral home. A burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City.
