Matlock, Ruth age 84 of Troy, OH was loved by many and born March 3, 1926 in Pineville, Kentucky. Ruth departed this life unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at Upper Valley Medical center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Neva (Hayre) and William A. McDonald, husband, John Matlock, brothers, Nevel, Fred, Curtis, and James (McDonald) and grandson John Tyler Matlock.
Ruth leaves to cherish her memory, sisters, Marjorie Ellison, and Hazel (Tom) Hufziger, brother, Raymond McDonald, children, Rebecca Matlock, Kenny (Lisa) Matlock, Roger (JoAnn) McDonald, granddaughters, Michelle, Ryan and Katey Matlock, and Rachel Brown, great grandchildren, Michelle Brown, Nicole McDonald, and Dylan Brown, and a great-great granddaughter Allyse Brown, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Ruth was born in Pineville, Ky. and raised in Williamsburg, Ky. She came to Dayton in her twenties, where she met and married her husband, John Matlock. They were married for over 55 years and spent the last 35 years living on their farm in Miami County.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2010 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm in the BLESSING FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr. Tipp City. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1:00 pm in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.blessingfh.com.
