Sara Lucille Bucholtz, age 96 of Dayton, passed away Sunday, September 17, 2023 at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Faubush, Kentucky on January 11, 1927 the daughter of Joseph Elbert & Flonie May (Johnson) Bland. She loved to sew, quilt and embroider and made many things for her family and friends. She also enjoyed listening to music and loved to cook and bake. But most of all she loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughters Carol Denham (Peter) Herbon, Linda Denham (Jordan) Stefanoff and Sandra Bucholtz Howard; grandchildren Lisa Marcum, Shelli James, Peter J. Herbon, James Stefanoff and Daniel Stefanoff; great grandchildren Adam Stefanoff, Hannah Stefanoff, Morgan Stefanoff Goudy, McKenzie Stefanoff, Emma Stefanoff, Olivia Stefanoff, Nathan Todd, Sarah Herr, Amber Hill, Ashley Wright, Brian Wright, Jeff Todd, Brenna Kress, Lilli Herbon and Sofi Herbon; great-great grandchildren Gavin Patrick, Noah Wright, Haley Herr, Ethan Herr, Zane Wright, Ariel Wright, Jeremy Russell, Issac Wright, and baby Goudy in October; brothers Joe (Sue) Bland, Glenard Bland; sister Wanda Lee Pierce; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Glenn Edward Bucholtz; son-in-law Charles Howard; great grandson Zachary Wright; brother Laurel E. Bland; sister Darlene M. Bland VanHosier; brother-in-laws Gordon Pierce and Junior VanHosier.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, Septemebr 21, 2023 from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm at the ZERKLE FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr., Tipp City. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 1:30 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City.
