Sharon Ann Bennett, age 84 of Huber Heights, passed away, Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at Miami Valley Hospital. She was born in Dayton on August 18, 1942, the daughter of Gerald & Priscilla (Warner) Gibboney. She was a 1960 graduate of Vandalia Butler High School and a 1963 graduate of Bethesda Hospital Nursing School in Cincinnati. She worked for over 44 years at Good Samaritan Hospital in Labor & Delivery and retired in 2007. For her entire career, Sharon worked as a Labor and Delivery Nurse. Nursing was more than a profession to her-it was a reflection of the compassionate and caring woman she was. Sharon had a wonderful sense of adventure and especially loved going on cruises. She enjoyed traveling, seeing new places, and making memories along the way. She also had a passion for genealogy and could spend countless hours researching family history and creating family trees. All those that knew Sharon knew her love for Harry Potter. It was one of the many things that brought her joy and was a fun and special part of who she was.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, William “Bill” R. Bennett; sons Greg (Diane) Bennett and Brian (Angie) Bennett; grandchildren Megan Bennett, Jacob Bennett, Brandon Bennett and Becca Bennett; great grandson Spencer Bennett and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Elaine Mescher.

A Celebration of Sharon’s life will be held at a later date. Services have been entrusted to the Zerkle Funeral Home, Tipp City. Condolences may be sent to the family through this online guestbook.
