Sherman McCarroll, age 93 of Moraine passed away Friday, April 8, 2011 in Walnut Creek Nursing Home, Kettering. He was born in Harrimen, Tennessee on November 7, 1917 the son of George Lee & Maggie (Call) McCarroll. He loved to garden and grow vegetables and was known as the vegetable man of Moraine for over 40 years. He went to the Waffle House every morning to visit with many friends. He was a former Montgomery County Sheriff''s Deputy and Deputy Coroner. He was a member of the Buckeye Sheriff''s Assn. for many years.
He is survived by his significant other Juanita Lord, daughter Janet O''Neil of Middletown, step daughter Pam (Harold) Bowling, 2 grandsons, 2 step granddaughters Lori (Phillip) Hubbs, and Stephanie (Todd) Page, 4 step great grandchildren Travis & Alex Hubbs, and Katelyn & Grady Page, sister-in-law Beulah McCarroll, special nephew Larry McCarroll, and nephews Jeff (Susan) McCarroll, and Brian (Cyndi) McCarroll.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Eva McCarroll, brothers Pete, Paul, Joel, Clarence, and Ed, and a sister Elsie.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm in the BLESSING FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr. Tipp City. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at 10:30 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City.
