IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sheryl Lynn
"Sherri" Spence
December 29, 1971 – December 4, 2024
Sheryl (Sherri) Lynn Spence, age 52, went to be with the Lord December 4, 2024, at her home in Urbana, OH, with her husband and youngest daughter by her side. Sherri was born on December 29, 1971, in Springfield, OH, to Phillip Eugene and Lois Marie Barry. On August 8, 1992, she married the absolute love of her life, Michael Lee Spence, and they celebrated 32 years of love and partnership.
Sherri is survived by her loving parents, Phillip Eugene and Lois Marie Barry of Medway, OH; devoted husband, Michael Lee Spence; beloved children: Bretannia (Ryan) Leach of Fletcher, OH, Shane (Cierra) Spence of Urbana, OH, Cole Spence (Jessamyn Rice) of New Carlisle, OH, Samantha Spence and Emalee Spence of Urbana, OH and her adored grandchildren: Bohan, Cora, Mila and Della Leach, Waylon Spence, and William and Lucy Spence.
In 1996, Sherri began her career with an Associate Degree in Nursing and later completed her Bachelor's Degree at the University of Urbana. She enjoyed a busy, successful career in healthcare and education. She demonstrated strong faith and compassion for others. She was known for her knowledge, skill, resilience and adaptability to any situation. Her strength of character allowed her to excel in oncology, pediatrics and obstetrics, building a foundation of excellence that would define her career. Sherri's impact extended into education as she taught Emergency Nursing and Pediatric courses and became a nursing instructor at Hondros College. Her work as an educator left an enduring legacy, helping to shape the next generation of nurses. There were so many facets to Sherri. She was quick-witted, funny, fiercely protective of those she loved and WHEW, a true red head. She was loyal to those who called her friend. She enjoyed raising cattle, pigs, strawberries and a garden. She loved to play with her grandkids, cook and feed people, crochet, watch movies, listen to music, go to the fair, read and travel. She also loved, and was proud, to homeschool her youngest daughter, which allowed them to make many wonderful memories. Sherri enjoyed having big family events/birthdays/Christmas. She would laugh and smile the entire time the kids (young and old) were opening gifts, some that she had made for them. Sherri's true love was the Lord and to be with her family and friends…to laugh, love and enjoy life…and that she did. With broken hearts she will be lovingly remembered…
