Thelma J. Compton, age 92, peacefully entered the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at Baptist Health Hospice in Lexington, Kentucky. She was born in Appalachia, Kentucky on April 15, 1934, the daughter of Burley H. & Gladys M. (Malaby) Ferrell.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Billie Compton; her parents; a sister; a brother; and sisters-in-law.

She is survived by her son Charles Parsons; her daughters Vicki Marler and Christine (Todd) Anderson; her grandchildren, Aaron (Jerri) Jackson, Melissa Jackson, Michael Sweet, and Jacob Marler; her great-grandchildren, Tristan Jackson, Brayden Jackson, Bryce Dillon, and Brianna Dillon; her brother Jay Ferrell, and his family; along with many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

The family is deeply grateful for the compassionate care provided by her caregivers at Sayre Christian Village and by the hospice team during her final days. Above all, Thelma placed her faith in Jesus Christ. In John 3:3, Jesus said, “You must be born again.” It was her heartfelt desire that her family and friends would come to know the same hope and assurance of eternal life through faith in Him. The family finds comfort in the words of Jesus found in John 11:25, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in Me, though he die, yet shall he live.”

A funeral service celebrating Thelma’s life will be held on Monday, July 6, 2026, at 1:00 pm at the ZERKLE FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr. Tipp City, Ohio. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City. Condolences may be sent to the family through this online guestbook.
