Tracy D. Turner, age 82 of Vandalia, passed away Thursday, December 31, 2009 in Vandalia Park Nursing Home, Vandalia. He was born on April 12, 1927 in Allegan, Michigan the son of Tracy W. & Hattie (Coston) Turner. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in World War II. He was a HAM Operator for many years under the call name K8OXG and flew radio controlled airplanes. He loved fishing, hunting, camping, woodworking and backpacking.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years Blanche (Mitchell) Turner, children Terry David (Debbie) Turner of Sidney, Susan Kay (Pete) Mazula of Littleton, Co., Deborah Ann (Royal) Smith of Glenwood Springs, Co., 7 grandchildren Stacy Angel, Angella Miller, Michelle Cline, Zachary Johnson, Alexis Mazula, Hillary Chamberlain, and Ross Smith, 5 great grandchildren, and a sister-in-law Shirley Schroen.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am in the BLESSING FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr. Tipp City. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Tracy''s memory to the Alzheimer''s Association, 3797 Summitt Glen Dr. Suite 100 Dayton, Ohio 45449.
