Sarah Vesta Beatty, age 91 of Dayton and formerly of Trotwood, passed away Sunday, February 2, 2014 in Hospice of Dayton. She was born in Livingston, Tennessee on March 10, 1922 the daughter of George Bailey & Cora Edna (Copeland) Stockton. She was a member of the First Dayton Freewill Baptist Church for 62 years. She retired from Trotwood Madison Schools after 25 years in the Cafeteria.

She is survived by her daughter Judy (Bill) Johnson of Washington Twp., daughter-in-law Mary Beatty of Arcanum, grandchildren Cara Johnson, Duncan Beatty, and Derek Beatty, great grandchildren Laynie Beatty, Colton Beatty, Aleya Beatty, and Landon Beatty, sisters Jean Kennedy and Juanita (Riley) Johnson, a brother James Addison (Jane) Stockton, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 63 years Robert Beatty in 2005, son George Beatty in 2006, a brother Hollis Stockton, and sisters Mattie Bailey and Thelma Hirsch.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2014 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am in the Blessing Funeral Home, 11900 N. Dixie Dr. Tipp City. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City.
