Virginia Ruth Evans, age 68 of Troy, passed away Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Piqua Manor, Piqua. She was born in Morgan County, Kentucky the daughter of Hallick & Polly (Cantrell) Cantrell. She loved to read and do crafts.

She is survived by her husband 32 years, Elijah Bruce Evans Sr.; children Susan (Richie) Kimes and Larry (Hope) Taylor; step children Elijah B. Evans Jr. and Clinton A. Evans; grandchildren Shannon (Justin) McEleney, Courtney Kimes and Michael Kimes; step grandchildren Michael Elliot, Hayley Elliot, Sanders Christian Taylor; great grandchildren Mason McEleney and Brogan McEleney; brothers David Cantrell, Orville Cantrell and John Cantrell; sister Gertrude Hunt and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Jerry Lee, JD and Chester Cantrell; sisters Mable, Versie, Virgie Lou, Gladys, Prudie Jean, Patsy and Berthie.

A gathering of friends and family will be held on Thursday, August 19, 2021 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at the ZERKLE FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr., Tipp City. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Virginia's memory to Hospice of Miami County, P.O. Box 502, Troy, Ohio 45373.
