Virginia Jo Havens, age 69 of Tipp City, passed away Sunday, May 20, 2018 at her residence. She was born in Youngstown, Ohio on June 19, 1948 the daughter of Eli Vincent & Marion (Rhiel) VanDyke. She was a graduate of Bowling Green State University and earned her Master's from Wright State University. She taught handicap children for over 27 years at several schools in the area. She was a member of Ginghamsburg United Methodist Church for over 40 years where she was active with Bible studies. She was an avid reader and loved to communicate with her family and friends through email and Facebook, but mostly loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Fred Havens; children Gregg (Sonya Renah) Havens of Louisville, Kentucky, Sara Havens of Louisville, Kentucky and Doug Havens (Fiancé Alyssa) of Austin, Texas; and grandchildren Matthew Jewell, Lilah Havens and Xander Havens.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Jack VanDyke.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 4:00 pm at the Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City with Sara Hardin officiating. Memorial contributions may be made in Virginia's memory to the Pink Ribbon Girls, 15 S. Second St., Tipp City, Ohio 45371. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.blessingfh.com . Services have been entrusted to the Blessing-Zerkle Funeral Home, Tipp City.
