Walter E. "Walt" Penick , age 84 of Butler Twp. Passed away Monday, April 9, 2012 in his residence. He was born in Dayton, Ohio on September 17, 1927 the son of John C. & Mary (Cunnington) Penick. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, former member of the Dayton Buckeye Model A Club, Coca Cola Collector''s Club, and owner & operator of A & W Electric for over 32 years. He coached baseball for several years in Murlin Heights.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Anita Carole (Allen) Penick, 4 children Steve (Bobette) Penick of Orlando, Florida, Tammy Ganter of Vandalia, David (Teresa) Penick of Brookville, and Kelly Johnson of Butler Twp., 8 grandchildren, Jon Penick of Chicago, Ill., Traci Penick of Orlando, Fl., Sara (Joe) Pesch of Kettering, Meg Ganter of Vandalia, Jeremy and Emilie Penick of Brookville, and Joey and Levi Johnson of Englewood, 2 great grandchildren Aubree Ganter of Vandalia and Jake Pesch of Kettering, a sister Nancy Draughn of Monroe, Michigan, and several friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and 4 brothers Marion, Jimmidean, Nigel, and Carl Penick.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, April 13, 2012 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm in the BLESSING FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr. Tipp City. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 10:00 am in the funeral home with Pastor David Mohler officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City.
