William John Harsanyi Sr., age 88 of Englewood, passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2014 in his residence. He was born in Dayton, Ohio on January 28, 1926 the son of Mike & Mary (Illes) Harsanyi. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp and Air Force serving in WWII as a Top Gunner and Sergeant where he earned a Bronze Star. He worked for Dayton Press (McCall''s Reader) for over 35 years. He then was a bus driver for Montgomery County Board of Mental Retardation for over 11 years. He enjoyed going to Washington D.C. in May 2013 as a part of the Honor Flight. He was a avid Cleveland Browns for 65 years and the Ohio State Buckeyes.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Barbara (Kedler) Harsanyi, son James Harsanyi, daughters Terri Little (Mark Stedman) and Cathy (Randy) Goheen, granddaughters Holly (Rob) Wozniak and Mandy Goheen, grandsons William (Kim) Harsanyi III and Mike Goheen, sister Margaret Kuck, several nieces and nephews and a special niece Julianne McCain.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son William John Harsanyi Jr., sisters Julia Boston and Anne Kallas, brothers Mike and Ernie Harsanyi and his mother-in-law Eleanor (Kedler) Ibaugh.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, November 24, 2014 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm in the BLESSING FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr., Tipp City. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 1:00 pm in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City.
